It may be mentioned here that renowned educationist Professor M L Tikoo (Malla) passed away due to Cardiac arrest at his residence Roop Nagar in Jammu on December 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to education and social activism.
He was originally from Bijbehara, Kashmir.

As an advisor to Scoop News, Professor Tikoo played a pivotal role in shaping discussions around critical issues. In 2010, he met with Dr. Radha Kumar at the Guest House in Jammu. This meeting was part of a significant initiative by the Indian Central Government, aimed at finding peaceful solutions through extensive dialogue with diverse groups in the region. Notably, he served as the President of the Prabandak Committee of Bijbehara for two decades, leaving a lasting impact on the community he cherished. He was closely associated with reconstruction of old Cave Temple Thajiwara Bijbehara and restarting the annual Yatra since 2008.

His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many who knew him and benefited from his wisdom and kindness.
