| NIT Srinagar Conferred ‘Pride of Nation Award 2025’ for Excellence in Nation-Building Initiatives | | 
Srinagar, December 20 (Scoop News)- The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has been conferred with the prestigious “Pride of Nation Award 2025 – Best Institution of Srinagar” in recognition of its outstanding contribution to nationalism, patriotism, and nation-building through activities beyond academics.
The award was presented by Veterans India in proud collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI).
The award ceremony was held on Vijay Diwas, December 16, 2025, at the NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi, marking a day of national pride and remembrance of India’s historic victory in the 1971 war.
Reacting to the achievement, Dr. Milind Pralhad Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG), NIT Srinagar, lauded the accomplishment and described it as a moment of pride for the entire institute.
“This award is a recognition of NIT Srinagar’s unwavering commitment to nation-building and the values that bind our country together. It reflects the collective efforts of our faculty, students, and staff in nurturing socially responsible and patriotic citizens,” he said.
The award was formally received on behalf of NIT Srinagar by Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, Nodal Officer-Pride of Nation Award & National Service Scheme (NSS) Coordinator-NIT Srinagar, along with Dr. Ashok Kumar- EBSB Coordinator during the ceremony in New Delhi.
Dr. Yadav’s role was particularly acknowledged in view of the institute’s extensive NSS-led activities, which have played a crucial role in community service, youth engagement, and the promotion of patriotic and value-based initiatives among students.
The data was collected from the activities conducted during the entire year 2025 by NSS, NCC,EBSB and SAS at NIT Srinagar. Dr. Manoj, & Dr.Nitika Kundan, also extended their support .
In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, termed the honour a validation of the institute’s holistic educational approach.
“At NIT Srinagar, we believe education must go beyond technical excellence. This recognition reinforces our mission to inculcate leadership, patriotism, and a deep sense of service to society among our students,” he said.
The director further said the institute would continue to expand initiatives aligned with national priorities and community development.
Institute Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, also expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing teamwork and institutional ethos.
“This award belongs to the entire NIT Srinagar family. Our administrative systems, academic programmes, and student-led initiatives collectively contribute to an environment that promotes discipline, values, and national service,” he said.
Over the years, NIT Srinagar has emerged as a leading institution in Jammu and Kashmir, not only in technical education but also in fostering civic consciousness and national character.
