| JKTDC promotion Vital For Jammu Tourism : CTTIK | | Katra,December 20 (Scoop News)-The Chamber of Tourism Trade and Industry Katra presented a series of comprehensive recommendations during a high-level consultative meeting convened by Ms. Shreya Singhal managing director of the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation .
Held at the JKTDC Head Office within the Tourist Reception Centre Jammu, the session focused on crafting a robust roadmap for the optimization of JKTDC assets and the accelerated growth of the Jammu division’s tourism ecosystem.
The meeting which was also attended by JKTDC general manager Mr. Riyaz Ahmed and other senior officials served as a vital platform for stakeholders to voice key requisitions aimed at enhancing the region's tourism profile.CTTIK delegation led by president Raj Kumar Padha and secretary Atul Sharma emphasized that for Jammu tourism to reach its full potential a digital first approach is essential, calling for aggressive digital outreach through robust social media campaigns and the organization of specialized FAM (Familiarization) tours for influencers to create authentic narratives around Jammu’s destinations.
The delegation further suggested unique cultural initiatives such as "A Day at JKTDC Bungalows," where tourists can experience traditional dogri cuisine and local hospitality, while advocating for the creation of seamless integrated travel packages connecting Katra with other prominent hubs like Shiv Khori, Patnitop, Sanasar, Mansar, and Bhaderwah. During the deliberations, secretary Mr. Atul Sharma highlighted that upcoming major events specifically the Jammu half marathon organized by the department of tourism should be strategically utilized as a launchpad to market JKTDC properties and local tourist spots to a wider audience. On the infrastructure front Mr Padha underscored the urgent need for comprehensive service and infrastructure upgrades, stressing that JKTDC must ensure premium standards in hygiene, clean linen and modern facilities to remain competitive with private sector properties. Other prominent members of the trade, including Captain Anil Gaur, Amrik Singh, Rajinder Sharma, Inderpal Singh and Bharat Bhushan also contributed valuable insights regarding ground-level challenges and growth opportunities.
Responding to the detailed presentation, MD JKTDC Ms. Shreya Singhal expressed her appreciation for the constructive feedback and assured the delegation that the Corporation is committed to a proactive approach promising to take up the issues of infrastructure upgradation and digital marketing on a priority basis. Ms. Singhal remarked that the ultimate goal is to make JKTDC assets the benchmark for hospitality in the region, noting that integrating cultural strengths with modern standards will significantly increase tourist footfall.
