Kargil Administration conducts Anti-Encroachment Drive from Old Taxi Stand to Bye Pass Bridge


Kargil, December 17 (Scoop News)- In continuation of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive and in compliance with the directions of the Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, an enforcement drive was conducted today in Kargil town along the stretch from Old Taxi Stand to Bye Pass Bridge via Shaheen Bookseller.

The drive was jointly carried out by the Tehsildar Kargil, Station House Officer, Police Station Kargil, Municipal Committee (MC) Kargil, and the Traffic Police Kargil to remove unauthorized encroachments from public roads and footpaths and to ensure smooth vehicular movement and pedestrian safety.

During the drive, violators found encroaching upon roads and footpaths were penalized, and a fine of Rs. 1,000/- per violation was imposed as per the applicable rules.

The district administration has once again appealed to shopkeepers and the general public to avoid encroachment on public land and to extend full cooperation to the authorities. It was reiterated that such drives will continue in the larger interest of maintaining public order, safety, and accessibility within Kargil town.
