| Institution of Engineers (India) organizing All-India Two-Day Workshop on "Zabaan-o-Bunyad" | | Srinagar, December 04 (Scoop News)-The Institution of Engineers (India) J&K State Centre is organizing an All-India Two-Day Workshop titled "Zabaan-o-Bunyad", Empowering Non-Engineer Builders through Urdu-Medium Technical Training,” scheduled on 5th and 6th December 2025, from 2:00 PM onwards, at the Auditorium of IEI J&K State Centre, Sonwarbagh, Srinagar.
This initiative is a skill-building program aimed at empowering non-engineer builders and the on-site skilled workforce by providing technical training in the accessible Urdu language.
Er. Ferdous Ahad Bhat, FIE, C. Eng (I),Chairman said that this national workshop addresses a crucial need within the construction sector, enhancing the technical capabilities of masons, carpenters, supervisors, plumbers and other field-level practitioners through first-hand training delivered in Urdu, their most familiar language. By making technical concepts accessible in a vernacular medium, the programme aims to strengthen foundational knowledge, encourage compliance with the National Building Code (NBC), promote safer worksite practices, and improve the overall quality of construction in the region.
He said that the event will host distinguished dignitaries, including the Shri Anshul Garg (IAS), Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir as the Chief Guest, Shri Akshay Labroo (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and Er. Fazlul Haseeb (IAS), Commissioner, SMC/CEO Srinagar Smart City Limited, as the Guests of Honour, besides other engineering dignitaries.
