Police Conducts Searches at JEI-Linked Locations In Pulwama
Police conduct coordinated searches against banned JeI in Shopian


Srinagar, November 27 (Scoop News)- In the backdrop of the recent spur in terrorist activities and with the objective to curb the tendency of radicalisation among youth, Police Pulwama in conducted searches at various locations linked with JEI across the district.

The searches were carried out early morning by Pulwama Police accompanied by the Executive Magistrate and other witnesses. All procedures were followed strictly as per law, and the operation was conducted in a cordial atmosphere. During the searches, the teams inspected multiple premises associated with JEI-linked individuals; however, no incriminating material was seized from any of the locations.

These searches are part of J&K Police’s continuous efforts to dismantle radical networks, prevent anti-national activities, and strengthen peace and stability in the district. Police reaffirms its commitment towards ensuring a safe and terror-free environment for the public.

In a major and meticulously coordinated operation, police in Shopian carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across the district, targeting individuals and premises linked with the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), proscribed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The large-scale operation forms part of the continuing preventive measures aimed at identifying and neutralising networks attempting to covertly revive the activities of proscribed organisations. All individuals with any past or present affiliation to the banned group were brought under the ambit of the searches.

During the raids, police recovered electronic gadgets along with various documents and other incriminating materials suspected to have relevance to the organisation’s clandestine activities. These items have been seized for detailed forensic and technical examination.

Police reaffirm their firm resolve to continue strict action against all individuals and entities associated with proscribed organisations to ensure lasting peace, stability and security in the region.
