| J&K Cultural Academy observes ‘Constitution Day’ with focus on Preamble | |
Srinagar, November 26 (Scoop News)-The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) on Wednesday celebrated Constitution Day 2025 at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, featuring a series of culturally enriching and educational activities aimed at deepening public understanding of India’s constitutional values and ethos.
The programme commenced with a collective reading of the Preamble, led by Ideel Saleem, Additional Secretary (Kashmir), JKAACL, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
A special exhibition on ‘Art and Calligraphy in the Constitution of India’ showcased intricate illustrations, traditional calligraphy, and decorative designs inspired by the original artwork of the Indian Constitution, highlighting its cultural depth and historical significance.
The occasion also featured the screening of a short documentary film tracing the making of the Indian Constitution, paying tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the members of the Constituent Assembly, including the contributions of its women members.
A major attraction of the event was a live art demonstration on the theme “Constitution Day 2025.” Eminent artists Shri Yousuf Naqshbandi and Shri Mohammad Ashraf presented live demonstrations for students, encouraging them to creatively express democratic values through art.
All attendees signed a commemorative banner, symbolizing unity and collective responsibility toward safeguarding constitutional principles.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across Srinagar, including Girls Higher Secondary School, Amira Kadal, and Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar. Students took part in interactive sessions designed to foster awareness about the rights and responsibilities enshrined in the Constitution of India and also engaged with the exhibition.
The event concluded with a resounding message of national pride, inspiring citizens to continue honoring and upholding the living spirit of India’s Constitution.
