Dr. Jitendra Singh flags off massive Sardar@150 Padyatra in Udhampur:


Udhampur, November 21 (Scoop News)-As part of the yearlong celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a grand Sardar@150 Padyatra was today organised by MY Bharat Udhampur. The Unity March was flagged off by Hon’ble MP and Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh, in the esteemed presence of Sh. Lal Chand (DDC Chairman), Sh. Pawan Gupta (MLA Udhampur West), Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia (MLA Chenani), Sh. R.S. Pathania (MLA Udhampur East), Sh. Sunil Bhardwaj (MLA Ramnagar), Ms. Juhi Pathania (DDC Vice-Chairperson), Ms. Saloni Rai (Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur) along with district and sectoral officers.

The programme began with the traditional lamp lightening ceremony and garlanding of portraits of Bharat Mata and Sardar Patel. At the outset, Sh. Khushal Gupta (Deputy Director, MY Bharat Udhampur) welcomed the dignitaries, followed by the collective singing of Vande Matram. The inaugural ceremony included colourful cultural performances by students of different schools showcasing patriotism and unity.

Afterward, an oath on Atma Nirbhar Bharat was administered, and subsequently, the Chief Guest flagged off the Unity March, which saw the enthusiastic participation of more than 1000 MY Bharat volunteers and Civil Society Members, reflecting an overwhelming spirit of national pride and harmony.

Addressing the media, Hon’ble MP and Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a monumental role in unifying more than 560 princely states and laying the strong foundation of a united India. He emphasized that today’s youth should draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s vision, courage, discipline, and commitment towards nation-building. He highlighted that India is moving rapidly towards becoming a global leader under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the youth are the driving force behind the vision of Viksit Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat. He called upon the young volunteers to remain committed to unity, integrity, self-reliance and to contribute actively in building a drug-free society.

During the Padyatra, nationalist songs and unity slogans echoed throughout the march route, creating an atmosphere of patriotic enthusiasm. The Unity March culminated at DC Office Udhampur, where the National Anthem was sung collectively and an oath on Nasha Mukt Bharat was administered to all participants.

The programme successfully celebrated the ideals of national integration, self-reliance, unity and social responsibility, echoing the timeless legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
