| Commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram” at NCC Cadets of GDC, Bishnah | | 
Jammu, November 11 (Scoop News)-As part of the Commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”, the NCC cadets of Government Degree College, Bishnah, under the directives of the 8 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Jammu, organized a series of patriotic and cultural activities from 01 November to 14 November 2025, celebrating the timeless national song that united India’s freedom movement. The programme began with an Art and Painting Competition on the theme “Mother India / My India, My Pride.” Cadets showcased their creativity and patriotism through colourful depictions reflecting India’s unity, cultural richness, and national pride. A Documentary on “Vande Mataram” was screened for NCC cadets to enhance their understanding of the historical and emotional essence of the national song. On the same day, a Pledge-Taking Ceremony was conducted, wherein cadets solemnly pledged to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and devotion to the nation, reaffirming their commitment to serve the motherland with dedication and discipline. As part of “Har Ped Desh Ke Naam”, a Tree Plantation Drive was organized, promoting environmental responsibility and national devotion. Each sapling planted symbolized love for the nation and a commitment to sustainability. All the activities were organized under the supervision of Principal Dr. Shallu Samyal and coordinated by CTO Dr. Kusum, Incharge NCC, GDC Bishnah, under the overall guidance of Col. Muneesh Jasrotia, Commanding Officer, 8 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Jammu. The week-long celebration successfully reflected the NCC motto — “Unity and Discipline”, instilling patriotism, national pride, and collective responsibility among the cadets.
