IUST to Commence 20th Foundation Day Celebrations from November 10

Awantipora, November 07 (Scoop News)-The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), will celebrate its 20th Foundation Day with a series of academic, entrepreneurial, innovation-driven, cultural, and community-focused events from November 10 to 14, 2025. The celebrations highlight the University’s remarkable journey of academic growth, innovation, societal service and national recognition since its foundation.

The inaugural ceremony on November 10 will be graced by Jenab Omar Abdullah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, as Chief Guest. On November 12, Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Chancellor of IUST, will preside as Chief Guest at a special Foundation Day event and will, among other engagements, inaugurate the newly established IUST innovation Campus and University’s main administrative block.

A week-long program features diverse events reflecting the University’s academic accomplishments, research outcomes and outreach initiatives. Key highlights include Academia–Industry Conclave 5.0, Tech Expo, Hackathon, Business Festival, Literary Festival, and Cultural Festival. In addition, several major facilities and initiatives will also be inaugurated, including the IUST Innovation Campus and the IUST Community Radio Station, completed infrastructure project, student-support programs and observance of UBA Foundation Day.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, remarked that the 20th Foundation Day marks a significant milestone in IUST’s growth and development. He highlighted the University’s impressive progress in expanding and diversifying its academic offerings, strengthening its research ecosystem, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing community outreach. He added that the Foundation Week celebrations also aim to foster meaningful collaboration among academia, industry, and society, while affirming the University’s commitment to excellence, innovation and public service. The celebrations will bring together, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, faculty, students, alumni and community representatives.
