| JMC Commissioner inspects civic amenities in Govt Quarters | | Jammu, November 06 (Scoop News)- Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Devansh Yadav today visited different areas of Jammu City and inspected the status of civic amenities at residential Quarters earmarked for Civil Secretariat Darbar Move employees.
During the visit, Dr. Yadav took stock of the overall sanitation system and interacted with residents to understand their concerns regarding cleanliness, waste disposal and mosquito control in the locality. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that both dry and wet waste from every household and surrounding areas be properly segregated at the source. He emphasized that all collected waste must be loaded systematically into autos for transportation and scientific disposal at the designated waste management sites to maintain hygiene and prevent littering.
Highlighting the importance of preventive health measures, Dr. Yadav instructed the concerned sanitation and health teams to intensify spraying and fogging operations in and around the residential quarters to prevent mosquito breeding and control the spread of vector-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya. He also stressed on the need to identify stagnant water sources, clean drains and maintain proper waste disposal channels to eliminate potential breeding grounds.
The Commissioner reiterated JMC’s commitment to maintaining a clean, healthy and disease-free environment for all citizens and directed officers to ensure that every sanitation worker and supervisory staff performs their duties diligently. He also appealed to the residents to cooperate with the Corporation’s teams by keeping their surroundings clean, segregating waste at home and reporting any sanitation-related issues through the JMC helpline or mobile application.
Reviewing the existing cleanliness arrangements, the Commissioner issued on–the-spot directions to the field staff to maintain strict vigilance and ensure daily lifting of garbage from residential quarters and open spaces. He further directed that door-to-door waste collection be monitored regularly and public awareness on waste segregation be increased among residents and workers alike.
Among others, Health Officer, JMC, Dr. Vinod Sharma and other senior officers of the Health section of JMC accompanied the Commissioner during the tour.
