MP Ladakh Mohmad Haneefa Jan Tours Barsoo Constituency

Kargil , November 03 (Scoop News)-Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan, today undertook an extensive tour of Barsoo Constituency, visiting several villages including the last village, Itchoo becoming the first MP from Ladakh to visit the area where road connectivity is yet to be established.
The MP was accompanied by Councillor Barsoo, SDM Sankoo, and district officers and officials from various departments.
At Bartoo, villagers raised demands for ST line shifting, school upgradation, and other essential developmental works.
At Itchoo, the residents sought helicopter service for patients during winter, grants for winter coaching, and an ambulance, besides other infrastructure-related issues.
At Shargandi, villagers highlighted the need for improvement in basic facilities, while at Pangbar, demands included a road project to connect Pangbar with Sapi, ambulance service, computer systems for the library, and a new primary school building.
At Tiket, villagers requested heating arrangements, beautification funds for the Imam Bargah, upgradation of the High School to Higher Secondary level, mobile tower installation, and funds for link roads.
At Khandi, the villagers urged for the protection of the sacred spring water and development of a playfield. The MP also inspected the KREDA Small Hydro Power Project at Khandi.
At Gamating, residents demanded a school bus and road widening, while at Hamburtik, villagers sought school upgradation, a medical aid centre, mobile tower, and community hall.
At Pattu, the MP received representations for the construction of bunds on both sides of the nallah, library equipment, funds for irrigation canals, and a bridge connecting Pattu.
Later, during interactions at Hamburtik and Purkichey, the MP assured to address all genuine issues on a priority basis. He instructed concerned departments to take immediate action on minor issues and assured that all major concerns will be taken up at the UT and Central Government levels. The MP further announced that a follow-up meeting will be convened with the concerned departments after the conclusion of the tour.
Earlier, at Chibar, MP Haneefa Jan inaugurated a village museum collection, established through local efforts. He appreciated the initiative and directed the Tourism and Culture Department to explore the area’s tourism potential.
