Mission Director HADP/JKCIP Conducts Extensive Tour of SM Farm Chinore

Jammu, November 02 (Scoop News)- Sandeep Kumar, IFS, Mission Director, HADP/JKCIP, today conducted an extensive tour of SM Farm, Chinore, to review ongoing developmental activities and assess the progress of various interventions being implemented by the Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare, Jammu.
Sh. Sandeep Kumar was accompanied by Sh. Anil Gupta, Director Agriculture Jammu; Dr. Aman Jyoti Sharma, Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB/Farms) Jammu; Sh. Verinder Dogra, Farm Manager, SM Farm Chinore; and other senior officers and officials of the department.
During the visit, the Mission Director assessed the readiness of the farm for the upcoming Rabi season, with a particular focus on various varieties of wheat crops. He emphasized that the seed multiplication process from breeder seed to foundation seed is a critical aspect in ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality seeds to farmers. Discussions were held with the Director Agriculture Jammu and farm staff to gather insights and address any challenges anticipated for the cultivation season.
He also took a detailed overview of the innovative agricultural practices and infrastructure development initiatives aimed at enhancing farm productivity and sustainability. The Mission Director interacted with field officers and farm staff, underscoring the importance of adopting modern and sustainable technologies to improve the efficiency of departmental farms.
Earlier in the day, the Mission Director visited Laliyal village in Panchayat Kana Chak, where he interacted with progressive Krishi Udhamis, Smt. Pinky Sharma (KKG Kanachak) and Sh. Bisham Khajuria (KKG Rajpura). The Mission Director discussed with them the challenges faced in the functioning of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKGs) and assured that the department will further strengthen the KKGs through enhanced support and integration with departmental activities.
Director Agriculture Jammu highlighted how the KKGs act as central hubs for streamlining farming activities, ultimately helping farmers improve their agricultural productivity and overall livelihoods. During the field interaction, Smt. Rekha Verma (I/c AEO Mishriwala), Sh. Vandan Jamwal (JAEO Kanachak), Smt. Rajnesh Rajput, and Sh. Ajay Kumar (AEA Kanachak) were also present on the occasion.
