| Infantry Day celebration held at Government Degree College Banihal | | Banihal, October 28 (Scoop News)- The Indian Army on Tuesday organized a special event at Government Degree College, Banihal to commemorate Infantry Day and inspire young students to serve the nation through careers in the Armed Forces. The program aimed to raise awareness about the Agnipath Scheme and highlight diverse career opportunities available in the Indian Army in Officer Ranks.
Officers from the local Army Battalion interacted with students and faculty, sharing insights on the historical significance of the Infantry Day, which marks the gallantry and sacrifices of the Infantry soldiers in safeguarding Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistani intruders.
The event featured motivational talks and interactive sessions explaining the objectives, benefits and structure of the Agnipath Scheme, designed to offer youth a platform for service, discipline and personal growth. Students actively participated in question–answer sessions, expressing keen interest in joining the defence forces.
The college principal, along with Army officials, emphasized the importance of patriotism, selfless service and the vital role of youth in national defense. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the Indian Army for its continuous effort in fostering the spirit of nationalism among the youth of Banihal and promoting meaningful civil–military engagement.
