Civil-Military Health Initiative “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” Organized at Majdass, Kargil

Kargil, October 15 (Scoop News)- A comprehensive Civil-Military Health Initiative under the banner “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan – Life is Beautiful with Family” was successfully organized today at Karkit Majdass, Kargil. The camp was a joint effort of the Chanigund Battalion, Kargil, in coordination with the Military Hospital Kargil and the District Hospital Kargil, aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and fostering stronger civil-military relations.

The event was attended by Commander 121 Infantry Brigade Colonel Ashish A. Joshi, CO L.S. Shekhawat, CO Sankalp Singh, and Hon’ble Councillor of Chuliskambu Constituency Altaf Hussain, along with officers, medical professionals, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Mohd Abass and local residents.

During the camp, a wide range of free health services were provided, including medical and surgical consultations, dental and eye check-ups, and psychological counselling sessions. The medical team from the Military Hospital Kargil conducted screening and treatment for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and anaemia. Women were provided with specialized screenings for oral, cervical, and breast cancer, along with immunizations for HPV, Hepatitis B, TT, and TAB. The camp also featured nutritional screening and counselling sessions.

Comprehensive blood tests including haemoglobin, cholesterol, blood sugar, liver function, and renal function tests were conducted as part of the effort to ensure early detection and preventive care. The initiative witnessed overwhelming participation from the local community, particularly women, who expressed gratitude for the accessible and quality healthcare services provided at their doorstep.

The health awareness campaign reflected the continued commitment of the Indian Army and the Military Hospital Kargil to the well-being of the local population, reinforcing the belief that a healthy woman forms the foundation of a strong and empowered family. The program concluded with words of appreciation from the dignitaries, acknowledging the joint efforts of civil and military institutions in strengthening community health and harmony in the region.
