Launch of Three Major Agricultural Missions by Prime Minister

Kargil, October 11 (Scoop News)- Prime Minister of India today launched three landmark agricultural missions — PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, National Dalhan Mission, and the National Mission on Natural Farming — during a grand event held at Bharatratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi.

The event was witnessed live in Kargil by a gathering of progressive farmers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, and agriculture department staff at the Farmers' Training Hall, Kurbathang, where the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address was arranged.

A total of 152 participants, including farmers and agriculture officials, attended the programme at Kurbathang. The event provided an opportunity to understand the vision and objectives of the newly launched schemes aimed at ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth in the agriculture sector.

As part of the celebration, a field visit and on-farm training programme was also organized under the National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (ATMA). During the visit, the farmers were taken to key agricultural institutions and demonstration units in Kargil, including: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Campus, Kargil, SM Farm, Kurbathang, Mushroom Production Unit, Kurbathang, and School of Agriculture, Kurbathang, Kargil.

The on-site exposure provided valuable insights into modern agricultural practices, natural farming techniques, and innovations in pulse production and value addition. The field training also aimed to encourage adoption of sustainable farming methods and promote increased farmer participation in government programmes.

The Department of Agriculture, Kargil, expressed gratitude to all participating farmers and stakeholders for making the event a success and reaffirmed its commitment to support the farming community in aligning with the vision laid out by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
