GCOE Jammu celebrates Hindi Diwas

Jammu, September 15 (Scoop News)-: The Department of Hindi and IQAC Government College of Education organized a series of engaging events, including a Poetry Recitation and Slogan Writing competition to celebrate Hindi Diwas. The events, aimed at promoting the richness and significance of the Hindi language, were a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike.

The event saw impressive participation, with students delivering powerful poetry that celebrated Hindi’s cultural and literary heritage. The Slogan writing competition was equally compelling, with students displaying creativity and passion in their thought-provoking slogans on the theme of “Koti Koti Kantho ki Madhur Swaradhara, Hindi Hai Humari, Hindustan Humara.”

The program was inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who congratulated the Department of Hindi for organizing the series of events that not only highlighted the importance of the Hindi language but also encouraged students to actively participate in preserving and promoting their cultural heritage.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Satish Sharma, a respected linguist and faculty member, who spoke about the enduring significance of the Hindi language in shaping India’s national identity.

The events were skillfully organized by Prof. Balwan Singh, the program coordinator, who also took the opportunity to inspire students with valuable insights on the career opportunities available to those proficient in Hindi.

Prof. Singh emphasized the growing demand for Hindi professionals in various fields such as publishing, media, translation, content writing and academia. He encouraged the students to harness their linguistic skills and pursue diverse career paths.

Dr Suraj Prakash from the Urdu department said that Hindi also symbolizes the composite culture of India. It is a symbol of Ganga-Jamuna Tahzeeb.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof Balwan Singh. Dr Shalini Rana, IQAC Convener lauded the efforts of the department and emphasized on the relevance and beauty of the Hindi language. Dr Rajinder Kour and Dr Rakesh Bharti also expressed their views on Hindi Language and Literature. The program was attended by Prof Sunanda Kumari, Dr Shalika Gupta, Dr Sushma Bala, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Dr Shallu Jasrotia, Prof Priyanaka Mahajan, Prof Chanchal Singh, Prof Deepali Devi, Prof Kiran Thapa, Prof Roopa Kumari, Dr Ambica Sharma and Dr Sonam Gandotra.
