Three-Day 10th State Level Pencak Silat Championship 2025-26 Concludes at Indoor Stadium Srinagar | | Srinagar, September 14 (Scoop News)- The three-day 10th State Level Pencak Silat Championship 2025-26 concluded today at the Indoor Stadium Polo Ground, Srinagar. The championship was held from 12th to 14th September and witnessed an overwhelming participation of around 1,200 athletes representing various schools, colleges, clubs, and academies from across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was organized by the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir and sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. On the closing ceremony, Hilal Ahmed, Manager of the Indoor Sports Complex, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and encouraged the athletes for their dedication and performance. President of the Association, Nasir Digoo, and General Secretary, Tariq Zargar, were also present on the occasion and congratulated the participants for their outstanding efforts.
Players expressed happiness over the announcement that the Pencak Silat Federation of India will soon be bringing an international coach for a three-month training program, under which around 100 athletes from across India will undergo specialized training. “This initiative will greatly benefit young players and help them match international standards,” the athletes shared.
The participants also showed excitement about the upcoming 3rd Junior Asian Championship, scheduled later this month and also sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. “We are eager to witness athletes from different parts of the continent, as it will give us an opportunity to learn new techniques, exchange experiences, and further raise the level of our game,” they said. Meanwhile, the Chief Coach of the J&K team expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir is fully prepared to host such international events in the future, highlighting the growing infrastructure and talent base in the region.
The championship concluded with great enthusiasm and promises of more opportunities ahead for budding athletes of the Union Territory.
