Grand Ganesh Visarjan Celebration Held at K.P. Colony Vessu, Kulgam


Kulgam, September 01 (Scoop News)-The week-long Ganesh Chaturthi Mahotsav organized by the Vessu Welfare Committee, K.P. Colony Vessu, concluded today with a grand Ganesh Visarjan procession and cultural events.Expressing gratitude, the leadership of Vessu Welfare Committee acknowledged the generous support of Bhau Saheb Rangari Trust Pune and philanthropist Sh. Punit Balan.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. On this auspicious day, a colorful cultural program was organized in which community members, children, and artists participated with great enthusiasm. Many dedicated volunteers and children were honored and felicitated by the DC Kulgam for their contribution to the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunny Raina, President of the Vessu Welfare Committee, expressed his gratitude to the administration, saying:
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the DC Kulgam and the entire district administration for their wholehearted support in making this Mahotsav a grand success. Their cooperation has encouraged our community to celebrate this festival with devotion and pride.”

Prominent political leader Mohit Bhan, currently serving as the Spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also nominated as the General Secretary (Organisation) of the party's youth wing, prayed for the early return of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community to the Valley and their permanent rehabilitation in their ancestral homes.

In his address, the DC Kulgam extended heartfelt greetings to the Kashmiri Pandit community and wished that peace and harmony prevail across the district.

With teary yet joyous eyes, devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, praying for His early return next year. Nearly 150 decorated vehicles joined the Visarjan Rally, which moved from Vessu Colony to Sangam, Anantnag, where the Murti Visarjan was performed amidst chants of devotion and faith.

The event reflected not only religious devotion but also cultural unity, community strength, and hope for a peaceful future.
