| NC celebrates 79th Independence Day with patriotism & unity | | Restore democracy in J&K by reinstating statehood: Rattan Lal Gupta | Jammu, August 15 (Scoop News)-J&K National Conference celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and unity at the Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.
On the occasion Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, hoisted the National Flag in presence of the large number of party functionaries.
Addressing the gathering Rattan Lal Gupta greeted the people on this auspicious occasion and hoped that they will work for strengthening the bonds of amity and tranquility the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir glorious pluralistic ethos.
On this occasion, Mr Rattan Lal Gupta stressed the need for preserving and promoting the secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation. The J&K National Conference is determined to work towards the principles of "Jamuriyat" (democracy), "Secularism," and "Socialism." These values form the guiding principles of the party's vision for a more inclusive and equitable society, he said, adding that the Party is committed to protect the land and employment rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta expressed his hope for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon the Government at the Centre to take immediate action in this regard.
Mr Gupta on this occasion highlighted the contributions of the great leaders who fought for the nation and got independence after a long struggle.
Mr Gupta threw light on the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev , Chander Shekhar Azad, Subash Chander Bose and many more for getting freedom from the clutches of the English Kingdom and for the betterment of the people and the country.
“As we celebrate our nation's independence, the J&K National Conference stands firm in its commitment to fight for the aspirations and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The party pledges to continue working towards a more prosperous, united, and harmonious India,” he added.
Two minutes silence was observed to condole the death of people due to cloudburst at Choshti (Padder) in Kishtwar. He urged the authorities to ensure adequate medical treatment to the injured.
Mr Gupta hoisted the tricolor flag at Indra Chowk Jammu which was organized by District President Jammu Urban Chander Mohan Sharma.
