BJP paid rich triubets to Brigadier Rajinder Singh on his 114th birth anniversary

Jammu, June 14 (Scoop News) – On the auspicious occasion of 114th birth anniversary of great Dogra Brigadier Rajinder Singh, a function was held in Ward No. 1 of Jammu East assembly constituency.
Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest. The portrait of Brig. Rajinder Singh was garlanded by Khajuria and other prominent leaders of the party besides a large number of local people.
Remembering this great soldier, Ashok Khajuria said that we feel proud to be born on the Dogra land which has the history of being the birth place of a number of great patriotic people, who sacrificed their precious lives for the nation and nation’s cause in the state. He said that Brig. Singh delayed Pakistani invasion for four days from 23 to 27 October 1947 on Uri front which helped Maharaja Hari Singh to accede to Indian Union and get reinforcement. Today, our state is part of Republic of India due to the sacrifice of Brig. Rajinder Singh and numerous other Indian soldiers. Brig. Rajinder Singh, who came to be known as “saviour of Kashmir” was awarded the first gallantry award of Independent Indian, “Maha Vir Chakra” posthumously for his courage and supreme sacrifice. The youth of today need to take lesson from the life of Brig. Rajinder Singh and take pledge on this day to be ready for making sacrifices for the motherland.
Distt. President Rajesh Gupta said that Brig. Rajinder Singh still lives in the hearts of Jammuites and Ranbir Canal, Rajinder Bazar named in his memory remind us of this brave soldier’s sacrifice.
The programme was organized by Distt. Jammu unit under Rajesh Gupta and managed by Karan Singh and Naresh Abrol.
Ashwani Bali, Mohan Lal Raina, Bua Dass, Dalip Gupta, Raj Kumar Khajuria, Anil Masoom, Kuldep Kandhari and Kuldeep Sharma were prominent among those who also garlanded the portrait of Brig. Rajinder Singh.
