Hope & Healing: Army/CMO organizes medical camp in border area of Gohallan

Srinagar, June 14 (Scoop News)-A comprehensive medical camp was successfully organized in the border area of Gohallan, through a collaborative effort between the Health & Medical Education Department under Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla, with active support from the Indian Army.

A dedicated 13 member medical team, working under the supervision of the CMO Baramulla and Indian Army provided essential healthcare services covering a wide range of specialties including general medicine, gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, health education, and anemia screening. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients during the camp.

Several individuals diagnosed with conditions requiring further intervention were referred to government hospitals for surgical treatment, ensuring continued care beyond the camp.

One of the highlights of the camp was the generation of Ayushman Bharat health cards, enabling eligible residents to access cashless treatment under the national health protection scheme.

The Indian Army played a crucial role in facilitating the outreach of medical services to the remote and sensitive border village of Gohallan, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of border communities.

The initiative was met with overwhelming appreciation from local residents and reaffirmed the joint commitment of civil and military agencies to bring quality healthcare to the doorstep of those living in far-flung areas.
