CEC Tashi Gyalson urges Public to Remain Calm Amid Mock Drills Across Ladakh
Ladakh Stands United with the Nation

Leh, May 07 (Scoop News)-Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson addressed a press briefing today in the presence of DC/CEO, LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve; Adll. SP, Leh Rigzen Sangdup, LBA President, Tsering Dorjey Lakrook, LGA President, Gyen Tsering Angdus; President, Anjuman Imamia, Ashraf Ali Barcha; President, Christian Association, Sonam Parvez; President, Sofia Noorbaksh, Ghulam Hussain; Vice President, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Advocate Mohd Ramzan.

CEC stated that the mock drills being conducted across the region are part of routine preparedness exercises and not a cause for concern. He urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, stating that there is no reason to panic. These drills are meant to ensure that the civil and police administration remain alert and ready to respond to any situation swiftly and effectively.

He further informed that all essential supplies, including medicines and fuel, are adequately stocked, and necessary arrangements have been made to avoid any inconvenience to the public. Road connectivity, including the Manali-Leh highway and the Nimoo-Padum-Darcha (NPD) road, is being restored on priority to facilitate smooth movement of commuters. Additionally, condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the CEC described it as a cowardly act against innocent civilians.

CEC further stated that Ladakh stands firmly with the nation and its security forces in this difficult hour and praised the security forces for the Operation Sindoor. LBA President,Tsering Dorjey Lakrook, also condemned the Pahalgam incident, emphasizing that Ladakh remains united with the Government of India.
He called for calm and cooperation among the public and reiterated the region’s commitment to peace, unity, and security. President of Anjuman Imamia, Ashraf Ali Barcha, termed the Pahalgam attack “selfish and pitiful,” and appealed to the people not to panic. He expressed confidence in the readiness of Ladakhis to stand by the nation and contribute in any way necessary. The UT Administration, Hill Council and all the major religious organisations of Ladakh including the Ladakh Gonpa Association, Ladakh Buddhist Association, Anjuman Imamia, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Christian Association, and Sofia Noorbaksh, jointly pledged their full support to the Government of India and the armed forces. They stated that Ladakh stands united with the nation and remains ever ready to serve, support, and defend the country whenever needed.
