DLSA Kargil organizes plantation drive in collaboration with Forest Department


Kargil,April 29 (Scoop News)-As per the direction of Ladakh Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil today organized a mega plantation drive in collaboration with Forest Department Kargil at New District Court Complex, Kurbathang, Kargil.

Spalzes Angmo Chairman DLSA inaugurated the plantation drive in the presence of Wangial Tsering Ld CJM Kargil, Chemit Yurgyal Ld Secretary DLSA Kargil. The event saw enthusiastic participation of DLSA Panel Lawyers, Bar Members, LADC Staffs, Court Staffs, Forest Officials & PLV's.

As a part of phase-1 of the drive, various saplings of Willow, Juniper, Cherry, Chestnut Castanea Sativa, Deodar Cedrus Deodara were planted in the premises of New District Court Complex Kurbathang, Kargil, by the Chairman DLSA Spalzes Angmo, Ld CJM Tsering Wangial, Ld Secretary DLSA Chemit Yurgyal, Members of Bars, Court Staffs, Forest Officials & PLV's.

While planting the saplings, the Chairman DALSA highlighted the advantages of the plants in maintaining ecological balance and in preventing hazards of dry seasons.

While addressing the participants, Secretary DLSA Kargil highlighted role of plants in maintaining greenery, beautification and an eco-friendly environment. The legal and moral duty of the citizens for the conservation of forests and the protection of trees was highlighted on the occasion.

DC Kargil reviews implementation plan for Mushkoo valley project under Swadesh Darshan 2.0
Kargil,April 29 (Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse convened a meeting at his office chamber regarding implementation plan for the Mushkoo Project, supported under the Ministry of Tourism’s Challenge-Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme under Swadesh Darshan 2.0.

PMU Tourism Ladakh, Abhijit Singh gave a detailed presentation on the project aimed to advance Mushkoo valley as a sustainable tourism hub, integrating wildlife sightings and community progress.

The initiative includes various interventions focussing on harnessing huge potential of ecotourism and wildlife tourism.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner sought suggestions from all members of destination management organisation to make the project sustainable with special focus on employment generation for locals, branding in eco friendly manner.

The meeting also discussed waste management in Mushkoo valley,management of as human-wildlife conflict faced by the locals in the area.

The meeting also discussed various roles and responsibilities of the concerned departments and stakeholders to ensure the timely execution of the project.

The meeting was attended by Councilor Ranbirpora Constituency, Abdul Samad, Director Tourism, Kunzes Angmo, SDM Drass, Vishal Atri, Joint Director/Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Hadi, Tourism Officer, Wildlife Warden, PMU Tourism Ladakh, representative of AKTTA , representative of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), representative of Himalayan Brown Bear Trust and village representatives.
