DSEK kickstarts mega plantation drive across all schools of valley

Srinagar, March 21 (Scoop News)-Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G.N Itoo today kick started a mega plantation drive across all the schools of Kashmir division by planting seedlings at High School Chowgund Verinag Anantnag during the culmination event of ensuing Grand Enrolment Drive 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, he stated that during ongoing special enrolment drive in Kashmir valley more than 50,000 students have been enrolled since the reopening of schools.

Itoo emphasized the department’s commitment to ensure maximum student enrolment, particularly in far-flung areas, where the drive will continue.

Additionally, he informed that career counselling sessions for Class 11 students are being conducted across schools to guide them in making informed subject choices for their higher studies.

Addressing the students and local community, Dr. Itoo outlined various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education in government schools. He stressed that the department remains dedicated to creating a more robust and student-friendly learning environment.

Meanwhile, Dr. Itoo also launched a Mega Plantation Drive in the school premises, reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation among students, which shall continue in all the schools of the Kashmir Division

The programme was attended by Chief Education officer Anantnag, District Development Council (DDC) members, school authorities, teachers, parents, and students. The DDC representatives also interacted with students and encouraged them to take full advantage of the government’s educational initiatives.
