Jammu, March 19 (Scoop News)-The Casual Labourers Association of PWD (Public Works Department) Pir Panjal Range are announcing a strike on March 20th, 2025, in protest against the unjustified wage cuts imposed by the government. For years, we have worked diligently in various roles, including computer operators, drivers, cooks, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and more, making significant contributions to the operations of PWD and development of the state. However, the government has imposed unfair wage cuts and withheld our salaries for several months, plunging us into a severe financial crisis.
Despite our repeated requests and attempts to resolve the matter, the issue of our pending wages has not been addressed. As a result of this injustice, our families are facing immense hardship, and we can no longer continue working under these circumstances. We cannot endure this situation any longer.
Through this strike, we demand that the government:
Immediately release our withheld wages.
Respect our rights as workers and fulfill the promises made to us.
If our demands are not immediately addressed, we will continue the strike until we are given our rightful wages.
They urge the authorities to take swift and decisive action to resolve our concerns without further delay. Our struggle is not only about the financial crisis we are facing, but also about ensuring our dignity and respect for the work we perform.
