Bashir Sogami passes away,Governor, CM, Ministers condoles death of father of Nasir Aslam Wani
Omar participates in Nimaz-i-Jenaza, visits bereaved family
Srinagar, May 16 (Scoop News) – Bashir Ahmad Wani (Sogami), son of former Minister and Member of Constituent Assembly, Ghulam Nabi Wani (Sogami), passed away, here this morning. He was 67. The late Sogami is survived by his wife and three sons, including Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani.
Bashir Sogami was not keeping well for the last few months and breathed his last at 9.45 am today. His Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered at Raj Bagh, which was attended by thousands of people including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and several of his ministerial colleagues.
Later, he was buried in the graveyard of Masjid Ibrahim, Hyderpora. The Jumma Fateha of late Bashir Sogami will be offered on May 20 (Friday) at 2.30 pm.



The Governor, . N. N. Vohra, has condoled the sad demise of the father of . Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Tourism and Home, who passed away today.

The Governor expressed his sympathy with . Nasir Aslam Wani and other members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.


Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has expressed deep grief over the demise of father of Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.

The Chief Minister participated in the Nimaz-i-Jenaza of the deceased. He visited the house of Nasir Aslam Wani stayed with the bereaved family, consoled them, offered fateh and expressed his sorrow over the sad demise of the head of the family.



Ministers also console Nasir Wani. Speaker, Legislative Assembly . Mohammad Akbar Lone, Deputy Chief Minister, . Tara Chand, Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhulla Mehdi, Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo, Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Minister for Tourism, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Industries and Commerce, . S S Slathia, Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib have condoled the demise of father of Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani.


Ministers of State including Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Shabir Ahmad Khan and Javid Ahmad Dar have also condoled the death.

Later, several Ministers attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased.

Meanwhile Member Legislative Assembly, . M. Y. Tarigami has expressed profound grief over the demise of Bashir Ahmad Wani ( Sogami) father of . Nasir Aslam Wani.
In a condolence message, . Tarigami said that the deceased was a man of principles bearing a good moral character. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with . Nasir Aslam and his other bereaved family members.
Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora today expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of father of Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Home, Nasir Aslam Wani.
Jora today visited the residence of Nasir Aslam at Rajbagh and condoled the death of his father, Late Bashir Ahmad Wani. He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Power, CA&PD, Shabir Ahmad Khan also condoled the demise of the father of Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Home and Tourism.
In his condolence message, the Minister expressed sympathies with the bereaved Minister and his family. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
