| Director YSS Participates in Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Plantation Drive | |
Jammu,August 09 (Scoop News)-The Director Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K Subhash Chander Chibber kicked off a Plantation Drive as part of the 'Swachhta Pakhwada programme. The event took place at Khel Goan Nagrota, where the importance of environmental conservation and community engagement was highlighted.
Accompanying Director YSS were Deputy Director Central Jatiner Mishra, Deputy Director Planning Ravi Kumar, DYSSO Jammu Sunil Kumar and other officers and officials of the Department. A total of 150 students actively participated in this initiative.
The primary objective of this programme was to instill a sense of cleanliness and sanitation among the youth, promote community involvement in Swachta Pakhwada, and cultivate a culture of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. The activities included mass mobilization of youth, sports for cleanliness, and encouraging youth participation in community initiatives.
Director YSS emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in shaping a sustainable future. “The Plantation Drive serves as a stepping stone towards a cleaner and greener environment, fostering a sense of pride and ownership among the youth for their surroundings” he added.
Later on Director YSS along with other officers of the Department inspected the ongoing construction works of Playfields, athletic track, Hockey turf and indoor complex Hall at Khel Goan Nagrota. He was briefed by Deputy Director planning Ravi Sharma about the pace of work. Director YSS directed the concerned executing agency to complete the work as per the allotment without any delay.
