Mirchi Kanno Dekhi Film Festival Brings the Magic of Movies to Visually Impaired Students

Jammu, February 09 (Scoop News)-98.3 Radio Mirchi brings the Mirchi Kano Dekhi Film Festival to the city of Jammu, an initiative aimed at showcasing a specially audio-dubbed movie, meant to bridge the gap between sighted and visually impaired audiences by providing an immersive and inclusive movie-watching experience. The screening featured Sushant Rajput starrer ‘M.S Dhoni’, which is a Biography based on the life of the ‘Thalla of Cricket’ – Former Indian Captain Mahender Singh Dhoni. The special AD version of the movie has been created by SAKSHAM TRUST in association with TOC COMBINE PVT LTD. The Script and voiceover have been done by Narendra Joshi.

The event began with a warm welcome of all the students and esteemed guests by the Team of 98.3 Mirchi including Mirchi Shwetima and Mirchi RJs RJ Chaitanya, RJ Tani, and RJ Rohit, who ensured the audience laughs their heart out even before the movie began. Their dynamic hosting and engaging interactions with all the kids truly enhanced the experience for all the attendees.

Mirchi Team were honoured to have Dr Arun Kumar Manhas JKAS, Director Industries Jammu, and Ms Anusuya Jamwal JKAS, ADC Jammu and Mr Bharat Manhas JKAS, Secy J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages as our esteemed guest at the event. They graced the occasion with their insightful remarks and shared invaluable wisdom.

Radio Mirchi extends its gratitude to Archit Puri, Director P Mark & Chairman CII J&K, Nakul Mehra MD Naturis Cosmetics, Abhinandan Gupta MD Raddisson blu Jammu, Ranjiv Khajuria, Mudassir MD Wheelocity Skoda, Dr Abhishek Sachdeva Owner Sachdeva Netralya, and Gautam bali Owner Gautam Bali Makeup Studio & Academy for their generous support in making this event possible. As we reflect on the success of “kanno dekhi” we extend our special thanks to Harpreet Singh Anand, Chairman of Jammu Sanskriti School for providing busses to escort children, and Atul Vinod Duggal of AVD motion pictures who contributed to making this event a resounding success.

Ms Anusuya JKAS, ADC Jammu in her interaction with students expressed her joy and said, ‘This pioneering initiative seeks to provide visually impaired individuals with an immersive cinematic experience through audio descriptions, thereby breaking barriers and fostering a more inclusive society. Acceptance is all they seek and that is what we as Society should be collectively focussing on.’

In her remarks, Programming Head of 98.3 Mirchi Jammu, Shwetima said, ‘We are deeply grateful to the Louie Braille Memorial Residential School for Sightless children, Swadhargreh ‘Neha Ghar’ and Jammu Sanskriti School for taking care of such children with utmost love and care.’ She expressed her gratitude to the Saksham Trust for their pivotal role in creating this specially adapted version of the movie for blind students. The support from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages further strengthened the cause. The festival extends special thanks to the Department of Social Welfare for their consistent support and commitment to inclusivity.
