| RMG International School celebrated the Annual Sports Day | |
Jammu, December 17 (Scoop News)-RMG International School celebrated the Annual Sports Day on 16th Dec , 2023 amidst a lot of fun and frolic.
The much anticipated event commenced with the Arrival of the highly esteemed Chief Guest , Sh. Sham Lal Sharma, Vice-President BJP JKUT & Former Cabinet minister, Guest of Honour Mr. K D Bhagat, DySP Dar, Special Guest Mr Joginder Singh, Station House Officer, Police Station Gharota.
Speaking on the occasion Sham Sharma said that Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of children.
Chairman Mr. Rohit Gupta & Director Mrs. Mona Gupta of RMG International School, extended floral welcome to all the Guests. Principal, Mr Anil Pathania escorted guests to the stage.
Vice -Principal, Mrs. Indu Kapoor extended formal welcome to the Guests and dignitaries and shared a brief report of the School’s Sports activities and achievements of students.
Program started with Prayer by school choir.This was entailed by hoisting of School Flag and declaration of the Sports Meet Open by releasing white pigeons followed by the lighting of the flame by the School’s Sports Captain Mr. Vivek Langeh to mark the expression of joy and merriment. Oath was also administered by students. The shining stars of Grade VI presented a drill, enchanting everyone with their rhythmical movements.
Skaters have shown some magical moves on wheels which left the audience spellbound.
Thereafter, there were some fun races for Grades VI &VII which include Ready to School Race, Sack Race, Lemon Spoon Race,NewspaperRelay, Three Legged Race,100 Meter Sprint and Balancing Race.
There was a spectacular show of Aerobics by Class VII students.
In the next set of events senior students displayed their vigour and athletic talents in ShotPut, Javelin Throw, High Jump, Long Jump, Hurdle Race, 400 Meter Race.
All participants mesmerised the audience with their energetic performances. The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness to see their child performing.
Parents and all the Teachers were present to raise the morale of the students.
The Chief Guest awarded the medals to the winners of the various sports events. Also the Cock House Trophy was given to the winning house of various Inter house competitions. Mrs Meenal Rathore, Housemistress, Alexandria House along with House Captain and Vice Captain received the trophy.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering. He emphasised the importance of sports in a child’s life.He said that it is not important to win. It is participation that makes all the difference. He was delighted to see girls
participating in almost all the Sports events.
He also applauded the School Management for the school’s outstanding achievements. Vote of Thanks was presented by CCA coordinator Mrs. Anuradha Manhas.
Sports Day concluded with National Anthem.
