| Doda: Youthon 2023 concludes with Chenab Rafting Championship | |
Doda, March 28 (Scoop News)- Youthon 2023, a mega youth festival which started earlier this month successfully concluded today. The festival was a grand success in revitalising Youth Clubs established in all 237 panchayats of the district.
The festival culminated with the Chenab White Water Rafting Championship, Beach Volleyball, Discus Throw, Shot Put, fun activities, music and adventure at Shibnote Prem Nagar.
The Chenab White Water Rafting Championship was opened by Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan and Senior Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qayoom at Shibnote near Prem Nagar.
The championship was organised by the District Administration in coordination with the White Water Federation of J&K and Extreme Adventure Group. The whole festival was part of the ADBHUT Doda initiative and under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The championship witnessed an overwhelming public response with more than 3000 people, particularly youth from across the district and other parts of the UT, enjoying the festival. Around 500 youth participated in rafting and other games.
The culmination of Youthon 2023 at Shibnote was attended by DC Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav; SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmad Poswal; ACR Doda, Sanjeev Kumar, officials of Youth Services and Sports, School Education department, Information Department, media fraternity, thousands of youths and students. The championship was managed and supervised by SDM Thathri, Athar Amin Zargar.
A total of 5 rafting teams and 8 volleyball teams participated in the event.
