Manjit Singh demands free of cost education for martyr’s children up to higher level
reservation in Govt jobs in J&K
Samba,March 23 (Scoop News)-Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today paid rich tribute to Kargil war martyr, Sopey Gurdeep Singh Soni Ji.
To remember the sacrifice of the martyr, a function in memory of Sopey Gurdeep Singh Soni, Sena Medal was organized at Palota village in Ramgarh in Samba District. On this occasion, both parents of the martyr soldier of the Indian Army, prominent people were present in the village who remembered the highest sacrifice of the martyr.
The people also paid their tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, Rajguru Ji and Sukhdev Ji. District President Legal Cell, Samba, Adv Sahil Bharti and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Manjit Singh, after offering floral tributes to the martyrs, said that “It was because of the sacrifice of the martyrs that the enemies were given tough fight in Kargil even as they were in the advantageous position. Our brave-hearts got the occupied hills in Kargil free from the enemies by giving the toughest fight and supreme sacrifices.”
He said that the people in Jammu and Kashmir and the country are proud of their brave-hearts who defend the border of the nation.
“These soldiers and other security forces must be given proper respect in the society. Their families should not feel isolated but the people should come forward to support them,” he said and demanded that the Govt should ensure the children and other family members of the martyrs should be provided free of cost education up to higher level, and reservation in employment in the Govt departments.
He said that “We shall help the families of the soldiers and the Govt should also take some measures to support the livelihood of the families of the martyrs.”
He said that “The youth should follow the footsteps of the martyrs and freedom fighters and their struggle for freedom of the country should be made compulsory in the school curriculum of the schools.”
Meanwhile, other people also spoke on the occasion.
