DC Leh chairs DLRC meeting; reviews performance of Banks for Quarter 3 of 22-23

Leh, March 18 (Scoop News)-To review the performance of the Banks and other Financial Institutions under various Government initiatives and sponsored schemes, Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse, chairman of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) chaired the meeting of DLRC of Leh district at DC Conference Hall today.
Lead Bank Manager (LDM), Leh, Tsering Wangmo apprised the DC about the performances of Banks in the priority and non-priority sectors which included agriculture, education, housing, energy and others as well as various self employment schemes like NRLM, NULM, PM-SVANIDHI, PMEGP, PMFME etc. Further, Branch heads of various banks apprised the DC about achievements and future action plans to improve performance in these parameters.
Briefing about the CD ratio, it was informed that the current overall CD ratio is 46% which is not satisfactory. DC directed all banks to take measures to improve CD ratio further.
DC Leh advised the Banks to play an active role with reference to various schemes which are implemented by different ministries for the generation of employment and entrepreneurship in the district. Further, discussions were held on Financial Literacy Camps organized by respective Banks in the district.
Deputy Commissioner instructed the banks and line department to conduct financial literacy camps in rural areas to cover maximum beneficiaries and to increase public awareness regarding the schemes.
District officers of the concerned departments apprised DC about the progress in various government schemes like NRLM, NULM, PM-SVANidhi, PMEGP, PMFME etc. in Leh district and issues faced by applicants to avail benefits. DC stressed on smooth coordination and regular monitoring by banks and departments so that applicants do not face any issues.
Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Leh apprised DC Leh about the progress on the self-employment training programmes for the unemployed youths. He informed about the successful batches of youths trained by RSETI in various fields of training programmes.
It was informed that till 31 Dec, 7 batches have been completed their training, in which 186 candidates were trained. He further informed that after 31 December, two batches have been completed and two batches are running.
Also, Bank-wise performance on Social Security Schemes saturation was also reviewed during the meeting. DC further instructed all banks to adhere to target set for each bank to cover under Social Security Scheme to the existing customers or beneficiaries.
He also instructed all banks to ensure special attention to villages included in Vibrant Village Programme in terms of financial inclusion, livelihood generation, self-employment schemes where banks have major role to play.
