Jammu, January 31 (Scoop News)-Shivratri (Hearath/Vatuknath) Puja will celebrate on February 17,2023. In a response to a letter circulated on social media by Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Ambphalla. Jammu, regarding Hearath Celebrations Punit Jyotshi,the editor of Vijayeshwer Jantrie in a statement said that we are informing to all my community members living in Jammu, other States of India and foreign countries that we are not party to the recent decision taken by Kashmir Pandit Sabha Jammu unilateral decision to perform Hearath Pooja on 18 February 2023. We were only asked to submit our opinion regarding the date of holding Vatuknath Pooja. We sent a letter to the Sabha in which we clearly mentioned that it has to be on 17 February 2023. We were not called for any formal discussion and the date has been selected unilaterally. It is not known which scholars were invited to arrive at this conclusion.
Statement further said that the date decided by KP Sabha does not conform to the stipulations/instructions issued by Late Jyotshi Kashi Nath Ji & Late Jyotshi Prem Nath Shastri Ji in the year 1994-95 Vijayeshwer Jantrie. The verses contained in religious texts such as Harivasar Vinod, Maheshwar Tantra, Dharm-chinta-mani, Siddhant Tantra, has not been taken into consideration. The procedural instruction of Har Ratri date clearly states that if Tithi of Trayodashi is not present at Ardh Ratris of both Dvadashi and Trayodashi, then pooja should be initiated in Pradosh Kaal of Trayodashi. Using Pradosh Kaal as a deciding factor for solemnizing Hearath is only pertinent in the aforementioned scenario. If you see the details of Panchangs published from Jammu, it is clearly indicated that Trayodashi is prevailing at Ardh Ratri of Dvadashi i.e. 17 February 2023. What made KP Sabha to ignore this fact is best known to them.
Statement said that it is therefore obvious that the Sabha has resorted to manipulations of their own.
Punit Jyotshi,the editor of Vijayeshwer Jantrie clearly said that,”We, at Vijayeshwer Jantrie, reiterate that the Vatuknath/Hearath Puja (Har Ratri) is on 17 February 2023.”
