BJYM felicitates eminent Dogri Writer Mohan Singh on being awarded with Padma Shri
Arun Prabhat bats for giving fillip to Dogri language


Jammu, January 30 (Scoop News)-Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today felicitated eminent Dogri Writer and litterateur of Jammu, Mohan Singh who hails from Udh Mandi, Gurha Salathia, Samba on being selected for country’s prestigious Padma Shri Award.

In this context, Arun Prabhat, President JKBJYM along with Dr Sunil Sharma Dogri Researcher, Vikas Sharma BJP Leader, Ankush Singh District President visited the residence of Mohan Singh and honoured him for being awarded with Padma Shri.

Arun Prabhat said that its proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir that government has acknowledged the contribution of Mohan Singh in promoting Dogri Language in the union Territory. He lauded the contribution and efforts of Mohan Singh in promoting Dogri, adding that preserving the language is imperative for upholding the identity of the Duggar land and Dogras.

Arun Prabhat said that the Dogra cultural heritage is the identity of the people of Jammu and we cannot afford to lose our identity. He appreciated the efforts of Mohan Singh and other artists for keeping the Dogra culture alive through their relentless efforts at UT, National and International level.

The BJYM J&K President said the young generation, who are conscious keepers of the Dogra heritage, must also play their crucial role in promoting and propagating Dogri. He urged the people of Jammu to encourage the young artists from various fields in order to keep the rich Dogra heritage alive in all times to come. He maintained that it is the young generation artists on whose shoulders lies the responsibility of preserving the rich Dogra heritage for the progeny. Therefore it becomes our duty to keep encouraging them so that they vigorously pursue the mission with utmost enthusiasm, he added.

Prabhat urged upon people of Jammu to encourage their children to speak in Dogri, so that this sweet and beautiful language thrives in future. He also stressed the need to introduce Dogri language at the elementary level in schools so that students get acquainted to their mother language adding that younger generation has to play a pivotal role in preserving the rich culture and help it flourish.
