Panchari Moungri facing Electricity, water and road connectivity Challenges

Jammu, November 27 (Scoop News)- District Councillor Panchari Moungri in District Development Council Udhampur, Jasvir Singh today said that Panchari Moungri facing Serious Electricity, Water and Road Connectivity Challenges.

Addressing a press conference in Udhampur, Jasvir Singh said that common people are
facing serious problems due to heavy power cuts in rural areas. On one hand there is
power cut for about eight hours per day and on the other hand there is continuous
increase in electricity rent which is very difficult for poor families to bear. The
administration needs to reconsider the decision of increasing the electricity fares to
make it more rational and it is the need of the hour to ensure that electricity meters
are installed in every household and electricity bills are generated on the same basis.
The J&K administration needs to take strong steps on an immediate basis to reduce
power cuts.

He said that there is no doubt that the Government of India has made a provision of huge investment to ensure the supply of water under the Jal Jeevan Mission, but due to huge flaws in its implementation, there are huge challenges in getting it on the ground on time. Contractors are taking less interest in most of the tenders and due to large tenders, small contractors are not able to participate in it, as a result of which there is a lot of delay in its implementation.Due to non-availability of funds, the repair work of existing pipelines is not going on and people are facing huge problems.
Jasvir Singh said that due to the delay in the ongoing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the common people were facing huge problems. Despite all the efforts, Panchari Moungri roads are still not suitable for traffic. He said that this issue was raised at almost every level but no strict action has been taken by the Jammu and Kashmir administration, due to which these projects do not seem to be completed even after four years.

The administration should take strong steps in this regard so that common people do not face problems. He said that Panchayati Raj Institutions have full cooperation with the Jammu and Kashmir administration, but there is a need for major changes in policy making so that issues of public interest can be resolved on time.
