Govt fails to address issues of youth, increasing unemployment: Vikram Malhotra

Jammu, September 26 (Scoop News)- Apni Party, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra today said Govt. has failed to redress issues of youth who are feeling alienated due to joblessness in Govt. as well as the private sector.
Addressing a meeting at Residency Road, Jammu East Assembly Constituency, Malhotra said that the feeling of alienation has grown up among the jobless youth as there are less opportunities for them in Govt. and private sector.
“In last several years, the advertisement of Govt. jobs have reduced with minimum chances of recruitment. The vacancies in Govt. departments have not been advertised, nor any effort has been made to redress the issues of the educated people which has further added to the already grim situation of unemployment which is at an all time high,” he said.
He said that “The Govt. has failed to address the issues of youth who are feeling alienated. There is no job opportunity whereas the private sector is also crumbling due to covid19 and there is no compensation or package for them.”
He said that the youth are feeling directionless. “Under these circumstances, the drug abuse cases are on rise day by day and violence has also increased. The role of police has also come under question as they have failed to check the menace of increasing drug addiction among the youth,” he said.
