| VC University of Jammu inaugurates painting exhibition | |
Jammu, December 23 (Scoop News) – An exhibition of paintings exclusively on water escapes organized by Rinchen bZangpo Gallery, Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu was held at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
The paintings have been made by renowned artist Dr. Sanjay Sharma. He takes up the challenge of painting water and its surrounding environment in myriad forms and moods. The exhibition has rare combination of painting and poetry. Each painting was accompanied by poetry written by his wife Dr. Aruna Sharma. It was unique synchronized combination of pen and brush.
Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Varun Sawhney who was the chief guest, inaugurated the painting exhibition. He went round and took keen interest in the exhibits put up in the exhibition. The chief guest of the today's function appreciated the initiative by Dr. Sanjay Sharma and Rinchen bZangpo Gallery, the organizer of the painting Exhibition. He said that art has many manifestations and it transcends the daily rough and tumble of life. He emphasized need for helping the artists so that they are able to give their best to the society.
36 painting have been displayed in the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors from 10 a.m to 5 p.m from December 23, 2010 to January 20, 2011.
