Writers, social activists across chenab valley termed exclusion of Pahari dialects as a historical blunder
demanded recognition at per with 6th schedule and Pahari status.



Jammu, January 17 (Scoop News)-A live webinar was organised by Bhalessa Heritage Centre in collaboration with Sapphire Culture of Paddar Elite (SCOPE) Pogli Bazm i Adab in which different writers and social activists of Chenab valley participated. The topic of the programme was "Western Pahari literature and Dialects of Chenab valley" which was attended by writers and viewed online. The programme was presided over by Sh Abdul Majeed Bichoo.

The detailed discussion was held in which the writers and speakers termed the exclusion of Western pahari dialects from 6th schedule or any other central act as a historical blunder. The writers and social activists also stressed the need for creation of saprate sections for all these dialects of western pahari in J&K Academy of Art culture and languages. The speaking on the occasion, Abdul Majeed Bichoo said that chenab valley has a unique cultural heritage and the dialects which are having roots in major dialects of Pahari like Bhaderwahi, Bhalessi, Paadri, Serazi, Pogli, Gojri, Kashmiri which includes the area of Nagsen, Dachan Marwah, Warwan too besides so many other dialects. The speakers felt the need for promotion of the indigenous literature and dialects as classified by Linguistic survey of India.
The Programme was managed by Sadaket Ali Malik President Bhalessa Heritage Centre, Sadaket Malik said that these dialects are western pahari as classified in Ist linguistic survey of India and belong to the pahari language family.
