DC Poonch assesses working of Revenue Department at District-Level Review Meeting

Poonch, January 11 (Scoop News)-: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma assessed the functioning and performance of the Revenue Department at the district level review meeting held today at the Dak Bungalow Surankote.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Sayeed; Sub Division Magistrate Surankote, Farooq Khan; Sub Division Magistrate Mendhar, Imran Kataria; Tehsildars from Surankote, Mandi, Mendhar, Haveli, Balakote, Mankote, besides district officers and all naib tehsildars.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of digitization of Jamabandies and emphasized accuracy, timely updation and completion of the process within the prescribed timeline. The status of online revenue services was also reviewed, with the directions to ensure prompt disposal and minimization of pendency.

The measures in place to prevent illegal mining were reviewed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner directed the enforcement agencies to intensify field inspections and adopt zero-tolerance approach against illegal mining activities.

The meeting also reviewed the Change of Land Use (CLU) cases. The officers were instructed to process all cases strictly in accordance with rules and regulations. The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over instances of construction without prior permission and directed Revenue Officers to conduct regular field inspections and initiate legal action against unauthorized constructions.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of work on the Revenue Department buildings and offices being undertaken under the current Capex Budget. The Officers were directed to ensure timely execution of works, adherence to approved specifications and close monitoring to avoid delays and cost overruns.

After the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, along with concerned officers inspected the condition of Mughal Road. The inspection focused on safety aspects and issues affecting smooth vehicular movement. Necessary directions were issued on the spot to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected progress of work on the upcoming PRI Residential Buildings at Poonch.

Executive Engineer Public Works Department (R&B), Imtiaz Ahmed Mir briefed on the status of work. The DC stressed on completing the project within the current financial year.

Further, the District Development Commissioner issued directions to the Revenue Department for demarcation of land required for other government departments to facilitate planned development and infrastructure expansion.
