Srinagar, January 04 (Scoop News)- As a part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police team of Police Station Shopian at a checkpoint established at Nadigam Junction, intercepted a suspicious person. He has been identified as Gh Mohi-ud-Din Mochi resident of Nadigam. During search, charas like substance weighing approximately 495 grams were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 02/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police reiterate its commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to cooperate in this noble mission. Citizens are requested to share any information regarding drug abuse or peddling to the nearest police establishment.
