GNN Club Clinches Shaheed Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Tournament Title in Thrilling Finale by 6-4.

Jammu, November 22 (Scoop News)-The Shaheed 10th Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Tournament, organised by the Kashmir Sikh Sangat, concluded with a thrilling and closely contested final in which GNN Hockey Club edged past Sahil Hockey Club to lift the prestigious trophy. Both teams displayed exceptional skill, speed, and sportsmanship throughout the match. Rajbir Singh of GNN Club scored two brilliant goals in the 15th and 30th minutes, giving his team a strong lead. Sahil Hockey Club fought back with goals in the 35th and 40th minutes, bringing the score to 2–2. The match was ultimately decided through an exciting tie-breaker, where GNN Club outclassed Sahil Club by 4–2 to claim the championship.

Mr. Ashu was adjudged Man of the Match for his exceptional individual brilliance, while Mr. Joban Singh of Sahil Club was declared Player of the Tournament for his outstanding overall performance. National-level umpires Mr. Rohit Kumar and Mr. Sahil Kumar supervised the match with professionalism and fairness.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest SSP Randheer Singh and Ms. Nusrat Gul, Secretary, Sports Council, along with Special Guest Ms. Anisa Nabi. Prominent personalities present included S. Balvinder Singh (Vice President, DGPC Jammu), S. Manjeet Singh, and Tejwant Singh Reen, who jointly presented awards to the winning and runner-up teams.

In his presidential address, S. Karamveer Singh, President of the Kashmir Sikh Sangat, expressed deep gratitude to the volunteers, sponsors, and supporters whose dedication made the tournament a success. He highlighted the importance of promoting sports to nurture local talent and honour the legacy of Banda Singh Bahadur. Ms. Nusrat Gul emphasized that sports play a vital role in combating the menace of drugs and assured full infrastructural support from the Sports Council.

The tournament successfully brought together local youth, encouraged healthy competition, and strengthened the spirit of community sportsmanship.
