Bishnah, November 20 (Scoop News)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA), accompanied by MLA Dr. Rajeev Bhagat and former MLA Ashwani Sharma, participated in a patriotic programme organized by the Jammu Border District led by its President Rinku Choudhary under the ongoing national series “Vande Mataram @150” at Bal Shiksha Kendra Higher Secondary School, Shahpur, Khairi, Bishnah.
Jammu Border District Prabhari Rajinder Singh Chib, SC Morcha President & DDC Member Dharminder Kumar, Kissan Morcha President Rakesh Pant, senior party leaders, and the school faculty led by Principal Darshana Devi were also prominently present.
Addressing the gathering of prominent people and students, Sat Sharma said that Vande Mataram is not merely a national song but the emotional heartbeat of the Indian freedom movement, the words that gave courage, clarity, and conviction to generations of freedom fighters. He said the BJP has taken it upon itself to revive the national spirit associated with this historical anthem as it marks 150 years of its creation.
Sat Sharma rued that those who ruled India for decades, especially the Congress party, deliberately undermined national pride by neglecting the due honour owed to Vande Mataram. He said that the Congress leadership kept compromising cultural nationalism for vote-bank calculations. He maintained that BJP will not allow the soul of India to be diluted ever again. He urged the youth to embrace national symbols with pride and resist narratives that attempt to weaken India internally.
Dr. Rajeev Bhagat said that the Vande Mataram @150 programme is a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless heroes and that the present generation must stay vigilant against divisive politics that belittles India’s cultural heritage.
Ashwani Sharma stated that the border areas have always remained a symbol of courage and nationalism, and it is only fitting that such programmes begin from regions that have stood like a shield for the nation.
Rinku Choudhary expressed gratitude to the senior leadership and said that the programme reflects the unwavering commitment of Jammu Border District to strengthen patriotic consciousness.
Darshana Devi appreciated the initiative, noting that such events greatly inspire students to understand the depth of India’s civilisational identity and the legacy of Vande Mataram.
