Leh, November 19 (Scoop News)-The District Administration Leh organised a public outreach camp today at Umla Community Hall under the ongoing “Mimang-Si-sJabstogs” (Administration at Your Doorstep) initiative. The camp aimed to provide easy access to government services and strengthen direct interaction between officials and the local community.
Umla, a small village with around 23–25 households, witnessed active participation from the villagers, who attended the camp in good numbers to seek services, raise concerns, and understand various welfare schemes.
The programme was led by Nodal Officer Dr. Tsewang Morup (DSHO Leh), along with officers from different departments. In his address, Dr. Morup welcomed the villagers and noted that such outreach efforts help the Administration understand local needs more closely while ensuring that essential services reach remote areas without delay.
Officials from the Health, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Rural Development, Power Department, JK Bank, ICDS, and other departments briefed residents about ongoing schemes, eligibility conditions, and application procedures. The villagers were encouraged to make full use of the services made available during the camp.
During the interaction, villagers raised several issues, including flood protection for Umla, construction of cattle sheds during the monsoon, repair of damaged cattle structures, strengthening of the riverbank, installation of heating panels in the community hall, repair of the village water storage tank, road connectivity up to Latta Point, and compensation for houses damaged during heavy rainfall. As part of the health services, the Medical Department conducted BP and sugar check-ups, screened residents for non-communicable diseases, and facilitated Aadhaar enrolment and updates.
Responding to the concerns, Dr. Tsewang Morup assured the villagers that all issues and applications received during the camp would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary and timely action. He reiterated the Administration’s commitment to ensuring that government services and welfare schemes reach every household in the district. |
