Jammu, October 19 (Scoop News)-National President of the All India Congress Committee (SC Department), Shri Rajendra Gautam, arrived in Jammu today, where former minister and ex–State Vice President of the Congress Party, Yashpal Kundal, along with a delegation, accorded him a warm welcome at the airport.
After his arrival, Mr. Gautam proceeded directly to the Jammu Press Club, where he held detailed deliberations with senior party leaders on various issues concerning the Scheduled Caste (SC) community and organizational matters.
During the meeting, Yashpal Kundal raised several key issues affecting the SC community. He highlighted that the inter-district recruitment system, which earlier provided employment opportunities to SC youth, has been **abolished under a conspiracy**, adversely impacting job prospects. He further alleged that the reservation policy is not being implemented properly in the Union Territory.
Kundal also drew attention to the deliberate hurdles being placed in the implementation of “Reservation in Promotion”, which, he said, has led to harassment of SC officers and employees at various levels. He asserted that the SC community in the Jammu region forms a significant vote bank, yet their concerns are continuously being ignored.
He urged the Congress leadership to take these issues seriously and to take concrete steps for safeguarding the rights and interests of the SC community. Responding to Kundal’s concerns, Rajendra Gautam assured that all the issues raised would be taken up with the party high command and presented firmly before the government. He reaffirmed that the Congress Party has always stood with the Scheduled Caste community and will continue to fight against any form of discrimination or injustice.
Among those present on the occasion were former Sarpanch Krishan Lal, Dr. Mohan Lal, Mandeep Choudhary, and several other party workers. |
