Jammu, October 09 (Scoop News)-BJP Mahila Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, organized an inspiring “Vocal for Local” programme under the vision of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan at Blue River Pottery Ceramic Studio, Channi Himmat, under the leadership of Adv. Neha Mahajan, President, BJP Mahila Morcha JKUT.
The event showcased a diverse range of locally crafted clay and mud products, including kitchen utensils, decorative showpieces, and idols of Bhagwan Ganesha and Bhagwan Buddha, reflecting India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. The Centre has been actively promoting traditional pottery and local craftsmanship in the Jammu region for the past 18 years.
Expressing her gratitude, Jyoti, the owner of the studio, shared that in the past 18 years, no organization had ever visited or encouraged their work except the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She appreciated the efforts of BJP Mahila Morcha for recognizing and promoting local artisans and their valuable contributions to society.
In addition to product displays, the studio also conducts free and nominal-cost pottery classes for students and women from the labour class, empowering them through skill development and self-reliance, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s “Vocal for Local” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.
The programme was efficiently coordinated and organized by Former Corporator Neena Gupta. Prominent women who participated in the event included Santosh Sharma, Poonam Gupta, Indu Puri, Usha Rajput, Ritu Thakur, Suman Raina, Poonam Gupta and several others.
Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Neha Mahajan lauded the initiative for promoting indigenous talent and empowering women through skill-based learning. She emphasized that supporting local products is not only an economic initiative but also a patriotic duty, contributing to the nation’s journey towards self-reliance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to all participants and artisans for their valuable contribution towards strengthening the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
