CBC Jammu organizes 2 day ‘Multimedia Exhibition’ on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' at Basohli

Basohli, August 17 (Scoop News)-Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Kathua, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India today organized a two-day Multimedia Exhibition under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Sushma Jamwal, Chairperson, Block Development Council, Basohli, District Kathua at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Basohli. Besides teachers and officials of CBC, Jammu, the exhibition was attended by Sh. Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, CBC, J&K, Sh. J.S. Jamwal, Principal, JNV, Basohli, Smt. Shashi Gupta, Planning Officer, ZEO Office and Sh. Bhushan Shastri, Sr. Lect. GHSS Basohli.
The aim of organizing this two-day exhibition is to transfer the stories, events, highlights and struggle of unsung heroes of independence struggle to the present generation especially youth and children.
The exhibition showcases India's struggle for freedom through display panels. Major events of freedom struggle include Revolt of 1857, Non- Cooperation Movement, Establishment of Home rule, Champaran Satyagraha, Kheda Satyagraha, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, Khilafat Movement, Chauri-Chaura Incident, Dandi March or Namak Satyagraha, Azad Hind Fauj, Quit India Movement and partition of India. A special facet has also been put up to highlight the contribution of freedom fighters belonging to Jammu. Selfie corner, cut outs of national heroes and 'New India Samachar' magazine of Govt. of India are the main attraction for the youth.
Smt. Sushma Jamwal, BDC Chairman, Basohli, in her address said that 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' is an initiative of Government of India to transfer the dreams, hopes and expectations among common masses so that they may know the struggle of freedom fighters and boost their enthusiasm for building a new self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) India free from economic and social inequality. She urged the gathering to keep National Integration and Patriotism above all other emotions.
Sh. J.S. Jamwal, Principal, JNV, Basohli appreciated the efforts of CBC Jammu for organizing the exhibition at JNV Basohli. It is an initiative through which present day youth will find a connection with their freedom heroes, he said. He also appealed the visitors and locals to spread the message of visiting the exhibition.
Sh. Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, CBC, J&K in his welcome address informed about the working and organization of Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Government of India. He said that this exhibition by CBC, Jammu is an effort to make the youth of J&K aware about the initiatives, aims and objectives of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said that various exhibits of this multimedia exhibition are designed to enrich the visitors with valour filled freedom struggle, contribution of freedom fighters of India and J&K, significant events of freedom struggle and present day achievements and policies of Government of India through visuals, interactive panels and live cultural programmes.
Earlier during the program, BDC and other guests paid floral tributes to the national heroes.
A theme based cultural programme was presented by Happy Gupta Productions, Jammu, Private Registered troupe of CBC Jammu. The Exhibition will remain open (Free Entry) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on August 17 and 18.
