Panun Kashmir condemn killing of Kashmiri Pandit and another KP injured in terrorist attack
Jammu, August 16 (Scoop News)-Panun Kashmir held an emergency meeting to take stock of the situation arising out of the terror attack on two Kashmiri Pandit brothers out of whom one died and another was grieviously injured in Shopian Kashmir today. The members present expressed shock and dismay over the dastardly act of terrorist violence against the innocent and defenceless Kashmiri Pandits.
President Panun Kashmir Virender Raina while speaking on the ocassion said that the genocide of KPs is continuing despite the tall claims of the government every time a KP is killed. As and when a minority community member falls to the terrorist bullets, government assures foolproof security but on the ground it has proved to be a mirage and KPs have continued to fall to the terrorist bullets.
Virender Raina said that unless it is clearly understood that Kashmir is not a developmental issue and neither an economic issue the problem will not be resolved. The problem in Kashmir is of radicalization and Pak sponsored terror and unless both are crushed with an iron hand things are not going to improve. The powers that be have to shun the appeasement politics and call a spade a spade in Kashmir.
The goverments action of dismissing the four employees with terror links is a welcome step. The action should have been taken long back,as that would have prevented a lot of damage to the interests of the country. More purging of such elements is required to sanitise the administration of all the dark sheep.
Virender Raina said that the government needs to immediately take up the matter with FATF, to put Pakistan in the black list of countries that fund and sponsor terrorism against it's neighbours.
The prominent who attended the meeting included Upinder Koul, General Secretary, Kamal Bagati, Ashok Chrungoo, Kewal Krishen, P.K.Bhan and Sameer Bhat.

JK Peace forum denounce in the strongest terms these heinous attacks

“We JK Peace forum denounce in the strongest terms these heinous attacks that show a ruthless disregard for human rights and the rule of law,” “The senseless killing of people, who have a fundamental right to be safe and protected from violence, is unacceptable under any circumstance,”

“The perpetrators of this violence have undermined the ongoing peace and reconciliation efforts “The engagement that Jk peace forum has had with inter communities has shown that the vast majority of people want to end the destructive pattern of attacks.

The alleged scale and gravity of these attacks mark a worrying escalation of violence. No cause can justify such brutality and senseless killing. Perpetrators should be held to account. I urge the security forces to exercise restraint in dealing with the situation and above all ensure that innocent civilians are not harmed. I strongly urge all communities and groups to reject violence. After years of insecurity and instability, it should be clear that violence is not the solution to the challenges facing Jammu and Kashmir State

It is crucial that the national and local authorities support the community leaders and work to bring the perpetrators of all attacks to account,”

“The Jk peace forum is deeply concerned about the grave violation of human rights and we call on law enforcement authorities to ensure prompt and effective investigations are undertaken and these and all perpetrators of such crimes are brought to justice, and to also ensure protection for those who are vulnerable to further attacks,”

The vicious attacks mark a low point on an ongoing fragile peace and reconciliation process facilitated by local stakeholders as well as the Jk peace forum as part of peacebuilding and development efforts in the province.

“To ensure durable peace and reconciliation, it is vital to address the underlying issues and causes of Targeted killings. We need to urgently double and sustain our collective efforts to find equitable solutions between communities by working closely with community leaders, faith-based organizations, development partners and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Bringing development and basic services to the people in the province needs to be part of these efforts,

The Jk peace forum offers sincere condolences to the families and relatives as we keep them in our thoughts and prayers
