Ravinder leads Congress rally at Sunderbani against govt.
Price hike, rising unemployment, Arbitrary mining charges, daily wagers issues, slow development highlighted.

Sunderbani, November 27 (Scoop News)- Congress today took out a strong protest in Sunderbani town to raise several burning issues of the different sections especially price hike, unemployment and farmers.

Led by former MLC and Chief spokesperson JKPCC Ravinder Sharma along with chairman PCC Refugees cell Vinod Sharma and large number of Congress workers the rally started from Ramleela ground and passed through main bus stand up to tehsil complex. Carrying banners and placards, the Congress workers raised slogans against the BJP government's anti people policies. Prominent leaders included Block Congress president N C Sharma, Ajit Singh, Vaishno Dass, Captain Babu Ram, Sarpanch Kishori Dass, Yog Raj, Ashok Kumar, Sarbjeet, Dr Ved Kukka, Ashwani Kumar, Joginder Singh, Shabir Chaudhary, captain Sadiq, Patel Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Rakesh Singh and others.
Addressing the rally Mr. Sharma lasted various failures of the BJP government and UT administration and later submitted a detailed memorandum.

The memorandum demanded that unprecedented Price hike -The common man is suffering a lot due to unprecedented hike in prices of all items of regular use and huge taxations by the government especially on petrol, diesel and LP gas besides multiple toll plazas .
The centre govt. and UT administration must take Immediate steps to reduce the price hike and taxations to give relief to the sufferings of common people.
Unemployment- Jammu and Kashmir has recorded highest unemployment percentage of over 22 percent, in recent years, which is alarming and highest in the country. The promise of creation/ filling up of 50,000 to one lac jobs ,post abrogation of special status and downgrading of JK State into UT, have proved to be another "jumla" of BJP government. The government must wake up to deal with the situation and create adequate jobs for educated youths besides providing private job opportunities to needy work force.
So far govt. has taken anti youth decisions like disbanding of self help groups of around 16000 self employed engineers, opened doors to limited govt. jobs to outsiders by entry through domicile laws besides reduced the future job opportunities by totally closing down RET scheme, proposed merger of 2000 schools and unsympathetic approach towards SRO 43 cases besides many more such policies.
The government must frame youth friendly policies and involve the youth at all levels for framing of policies for them.
We reiterate the demand for security and protection of jobs and land to locals through legal and constitutional measures.
Farmers- The farmers are kn roads for over one year against the anti farmers policies of Modi government and three black laws sought to withdrawn after long struggle and sacrifices.

While we stand with farmers and support their pending demands, we strongly resent the delay in the timely availability of seeds and quality fertilizer in our area. People have suffered a lot and still suffering as delay means low productions. The reports of sub standard quality fertilizer should be probed besides making available required quantities of seeds and fertilizers to farmers.
The Sericulture sector, which had great potential in our area, has been totally neglected and ignored in the recent past and proposed Silk zone and industrial estate sanctioned at Thanda pani has been abandoned in 7years this deriving the farmers, silk rearers and thousands of silk workers of job Opportunities.
Beripattan double lift irrigation scheme a gift of Dr Manmohan Singh govt to the farmers, sanctioned in 2013 and started in 2014 , targeted to be completed in Dec 2018, has been abandoned after expenditure of crores of rupees.
In addition a mega filtration plant formulated for meeting drinking water needs of entire Western belt up to Bhenigala hasn't been sanctioned.
Degree college sanctioned in 2011 is still working in a four room building of middle school, making over 800 students to suffer for years but the building could not be completed for last 7 years. There is extraordinary delay in the completion of college building while govt. failed to arrange private accommodation in rental basis as is case in several places in j and k.
Suitable site for Land for college building and sports stadium was sought to be acquired by the previous government but that was abandoned and altered by BJP government.
We demand immediate completion of college building and till then hiring of private accommodation for students. A sports stadium ,as sanctioned by previous government, be established in Sunderbani area with all facilities apart from play fields in rural belts for physical fitness of youth.
Hospital building- The under construction upgraded sub district hospital building sanctioned in 2013 and started in 2014 , could not be completed in more than 7 years . This reflects the least priority of the government towards health sector and health needs of the people.
Immediate steps be taken to complete the building and provide infrastructure , machinery /equipments to upgrade the existing facilities.
Daily wagers /casual/need based workers, land cases and contractual employees- BJP had promised regularisation to all such workers and employees on coming to power be they daily wagers, need based, land cases and other such category of workers and employees besides enhancing their wages. Now BJP terms them sin of past govt and govt not paying them regular wages.
We seek immediate fulfilment of promise by ruling party to all such category by framing regularisation policies for each category of temporary workers/ employees.
Land policy- The government has been adopting anti farmers and anti poor land policies, as the farmers and landless people are being deprived of their agricultural and other small portions of lands under their use and occupation for decades. The law of limitation and adverse possessions confer certain rights upon such people while previous governments always adapted pro farmers and pro poor/ pro landless people land policies. The government should frame and adopt pro farmers and pro poor land policies besides considering grant of Forest rights to non tribal’s also who are in bonafide occupation and use for decades or prior to cut off date of year 2005.
Besides all farmers in use and occupation of evacuees lands for decades, should not harassed and their possession be regularised, based on their lengths of possession.
Full relief package to displaced persons of 1947,1965 and 1971 be sanctioned as recommended by the Congress- NC government in 2014 as BJP has failed to fulfill its election promises to them and betrayed them.

ST status to pahari speaking people, as recommended by successive previous state governments, should be sanctioned without any delay.
Several vital roads and link roads in the area are in dilapidated conditions and unfit for transportation. Immediate construction/maintenance be undertaken.
Several school buildings and other government buildings are in bad shape. A survey be done for urgent repairs and up- gradations as required.
Traffic congestion in Sunderbani-
As immediate priority, a circular road around Sunderbani city be constructed besides adopting pillar formations and fly over, to deal with the problem of huge traffic congestion.
Mr. Sharma hoped that our demands shall receive due considerations at appropriate levels.
