Jammu, May 04 (Scoop News)-Ex-Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) personnel Munir Ahmed has appealed to the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Minister for Home Sh. Amit Shah to provide him justice regarding his whimsical dismissal from the force. Strongly condemning the terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam in which 26 civilians including 25 Hindus and one local were killed, he hailed the strong resolve and action of the Govt. of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the perpetrators of the heinous act of terrorism in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here today, Munir Ahmed who was dismissed from service by the CRPF for marrying a Pakistani National namely Meenal Khan, said that all the allegations spelt out in his dismissal letter are misleading and have deep malafide. He said that they(his family) have been the resident of Jammu and Kashmir since ages and have been residing in village Handwal of tehsil Bhalwal in Jammu for last many generations. “We did not leave Jammu even in 1947 while the family of Menal Khan(his maternal uncle) migrated to Pakiastan. He said adding, “I had a strong urge to serve my Nation and that is why I joined CRPF and have served in many difficult and remote areas since last 9 years.
Munir Ahmed further informed that his matrimonial alliance was decided during their early childhood by her mother and maternal uncle and in the year 2022, he informed the CRPF officials his intent of marrying a Pakistani National Menal Khan and sought permission for the same. Then again responding to a letter dtd. 24/1/2023 by CRPF raising some queries all the required documents were submitted vide my letter dtd. 18/10/2023 seeking clearance/NOC for marriage on 05/11/2023.
On 17/11/2023 a letter by the office of the IGP, Jammu Sector CRPF, Ban Talab Jammu was sent to Special DG, J&K Zone CRPF, Jammu regarding issuance of NOC for marrying a Pakistani girl. The letter read,” kendriya civil Sewa(Acharan) Niyam 21(3) mein diye gaye pravdhanon ke anusar, “ A Government Servant who has married to marries a person other than of Indian nationality shall forthwith intimate the fact to the Govt of India.” And sought directions from the higher authorties.
Munir Ahmed further informed that vide a reply dated 30/04/2024, the office of the Director General of Police, CRPF New Delhi said that Kendriya Civil Sewa(Acharan) Niyam 1964 niyam 21(3) ke tehat, “ A Government Servant who has married or marries a person other than of India Nationality shall forthwith intimate the fact to the Government.” Ukt karmic ne niyamaanusar vibhag to iski soochna de di hai(above employee has informed the department).
There is no mention of the NOC in the said rule, it added."
Munir Ahmed further informed that as per the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India only two types of Visas have been exempted from cancellation and i.e. Diplomatic Visa and long term Visa Holders(LTV). The applicant Menal khan has applied for the same on March 4, 2025 and the mandatory period of 21 days, after which it is deemed to have been granted has already passed. The local Foreigners Registration Office, Jammu too, after due diligence has forwarded it to the MHA, GoI for grant of LTV.
He said that the allegation that Munir Ahmed has been providing shelter to a foreign national and compromising national security is far from truth.
He again appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to consider the factual position and provide him justice. |
